Meryl Streep eshte padyshim nje Grand Dame ne boten e filmit. Gjate gjithe karrieres se saj ajo eshte shoqeruar gjithmone me cmime te merituara. Eshte nominuar 15 here per cmime Oscar dhe  ka arritur "Hollywood Record". Sigurisht qe eshte vleresuar edhe dy here me Cmime Oscar.

Eshte lindur ne Summit, New Jersey ne vitin 1949.
Ka studiuar Teater ne Vassar College si dhe ka perfunduar studimet e saj me nje Master of Fine Arts der School of Drama ne Universitetin Yale.
Me 1976 fejohet me kolegun e saj John Cazale. Ne moshen 40 vjecare John Cazale semuret nga kanceri i kackave dhe vdes.
Me 1978 Meryl martohet me skulptorin Don Gummer me te cilin gjate 30 viteve martese kane kater femije.
Histori skandalesh kjo aktore nuk te ofron aspak. Eshte cilesuar si nje njeri mjaft i lidhur me familjen.
Ajo deklaron hapur.
