TIRANA, June 19 (Xinhua) -- Albania's ruling Democratic Party is enjoying a two-point lead in a survey ahead of the general elections due on June 28, local media reported on Friday.
The Democratic Party led by Prime Minister Sali Berisha garnered 40 percent of approval rate in contrast with the opposition Socialist Party's 38 percent, the latest Top-Channel/Zogby survey shows.
The survey, published 9 days ahead of the elections, was conducted between May 23 and June 10, with 1,000 people surveyed.
Albania will hold parliamentary elections on June 28, during which the incumbent Berisha will face a challenge from Edi Rama, the Socialist leader and Mayor of Tirana.
